Collectors Fairs
For many years people have collected objects that take their fancy for no
reason than
the sheer pleasure of owning them, gazing at them and enjoying them. It is
not always done for money it is a passion.
With the start up of Car Boot Sales over 30 years ago, saw the chance for
discerning collectors to seek their collectables from somewhere other than
specialist magazines and networks of likewise colleagues built up over years.
After a few years the Collectors separated from Car Boot Sales and setup their
own Collectors Fairs. Buyers found themselves attending two venues, and found
prices and fresh stock increasing in cost and rarity at the fairs. With most
of the sellers of collectables attending Car Boot Sales to purchase their
stock the frequency of attendance at the fairs slowly diminished. Along came
E-Bay and the final demise of the Collectors Fairs (although a few good fairs
still survive) came along.
Purchasers and sellers welcomed on line selling as the way forward but this
method of dealing has its faults. You see collectors like to touch, inspect,
pontificate, smell and feel the items they collect and you just can not do
this with a photo.
So you have got it now. Where are the collectors selling and buying, yes back
full circle at Car Boot Sales, so come along if you want to buy or sell your
collectables, we are still here going strong at the one place were you can
touch, inspect, pontificate, smell and feel the items, reject them or accept
them and enjoy all the other facilities at the same time.
